GENESIS
Situated among the lush green environs of IIT Bombay, a Premier Institute of the country, Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT Powai was established on 15.06.1964.The environmental beauty and charm of the place has given this temple of learning a high pedestal in the history of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. Under the able guidance of Prof. Devang V Khakhar Director IIT Bombay, the present chairman of the vidyalaya and the principal Mr. Cherian C. George K.V.I.I.T Powai has continously strived hard to achieve a good result for the students. The founder Principal Shri S. Ramchandran's passionate love and commitment towards the Vidyalaya; and the progressive outlook of Prof SK Bose, the first Chairman of the Vidyalaya, cannot go unnoticed in building the strong foundation of this Vidyalaya
LOCATION
The school is very well connected since it is situated in an area which is easily accessible from the western suburbs by road and from the Central Railway line, Kanjur Marg being the nearest railway station.
AIM
The goal of our vidyalaya is to make a child diligent, industrious, self-reliant and resourceful, honest, truthful and patriotic, just and fair in dealing with all, and also strong enough to face the world boldly with values at heart. The vidyalaya aims to provide quality education, intellectually stimulating students to lead a wholesome life which unfolds their innate abilities.
AFFILIATION
The vidyalaya is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi and prepares students for the All India Secondary School Examination and Senior Certificate Examination of the Board.
